$1.2 million in provincial funds to support literacy training

The province has provided $1.2 million for basic literacy training at a number of organizations in Greater Sudbury. Cambrian College received $367,355, Centre Franco Ontarien de Ressources en Alphabétisation Inc.

The province has provided $1.2 million for basic literacy training at a number of organizations in Greater Sudbury.

Cambrian College received $367,355, Centre Franco Ontarien de Ressources en Alphabétisation Inc. $20,000, Collège Boréal $586,933, Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario $58,558, Le Centre Alpha-culturel de Sudbury $46,898, the Sudbury Vocational Resource Centre Inc. $62,400, the Sudbury Catholic District School Board $115,930 and the Mid-North Network for the Co-ordination and Development of Adult Learning $20,000.

“This funding will help learners get closer to their education, training and employment goals,” Sudbury MPP Rick Bartolucci said, in a press release.

“Giving people a solid foundation in literacy helps them learn new skills, strengthening their ability to contribute to the economy and their families.”
