Gas prices in Greater Sudbury have risen more than 20 cents per litre over the past week, from 112.6 as of Tuesday, Aug. 29 to 135.9 today.

According to GasBuddy.com, that's what most gas stations in Greater Sudbury are charging after the latest price spike yesterday, Tuesday, Sept. 5.

The gas price spike is due to the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, which disrupted oil refineries and pipelines on the Gulf Coast.

There's still a few local gas stations where you can find (relatively) cheaper gas, the least expensive of which is Mac's in Lively, which is charging 124.6 this morning.

In nearby Sturgeon Falls, gas ranges in price from 119.7 to 120.2.

The average price of gas in Ontario today is 127.4. The cheapest gas in the province is 105.7 in Thunder Bay. The most expensive Ontario gas listed on GasBuddy.com today is 143.9 in White River.
