A snowfall warning remains in effect for Greater Sudbury, with total snowfall amounts of 15 to 20 cm expected.

Air Canada and Jazz have cancelled all outgoing flights from Greater Sudbury Airport for the time being and there will be no arrivals until at least 9:35 p.m. this evening.

Snow is expected to be heavy at times, and some local blowing snow continues to affect the region.

As milder air pays a brief visit this evening, the snow may turn over to a mix of wet snow and rain for a few hours. Precipitation will then taper off to occasional light snow or flurries in the wake of the Colorado Low after midnight.

Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance.

Snowfall warnings are issued when significant snowfall is expected.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.

To report severe weather, send an email to [email protected] or tweet reports to #ONStorm.

In light of the continuing snow, Sudbury Naturalists have cancelled their meeting this evening, with plans to reschedule for a later date.
