The Greater Sudbury Airport has a new CEO.

Todd Tripp has worked for Air Canada as well as associate director of Aviation Special Projects for Toronto Pearson International Airport.

“Mr. Tripp brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in aviation to his new position of CEO,” said Dr.  Bish Bora Chair, SACDC Board of Directors. “We are confident that Todd's experience and leadership will successfully lead the Greater Sudbury Airport through its next phase of evolution.”

“I am honoured to join the Greater Sudbury Airport,” said Tripp. “I look forward to working with the airport's exceptional team and will continue to build on recent momentum to create an airport that our community can be proud of."

Tripp was hired in the wake of the recent retirement of former airport CEO Robert Johnston.

Last year, Johnston was the city's former interim CAO for a time, but said he was fired from that position last year after bringing up what he called “mind-blowing” health and safety concerns about the fire department that Mayor Brian Bigger ordered him to ignore.
