As part of their religious studies course, grade 5 students in the classes of Mrs. Lynne Robillard and Mrs. Stéphanie Gauvreau at École Alliance St-Joseph in Chelmsford organized a fundraising activity in support of Fort McMurray families.

The students organized a Hawaiian theme day and celebrated the arrival of warmer weather. Through the support of the community, École Alliance St-Joseph students raised more than $1,150.

The money raised will be presented to the Red Cross in support of this Alberta community which faced a forest fire.

The school thanks all participants who mobilized and displayed a true sense of solidarity and sharing with fellow citizens.
