Greater Sudbury Animal Control is asking the public for their assistance in locating a dog and its owners after the dog was “allowed to bite a boy” April 30 at around 9:30 p.m.

The dog, a medium-sized black lab mix, bit the boy at the baseball field on Second Ave. in Levack, stated a press release from Greater Sudbury Animal Control.

The dog was with an approximately 35 year old, short, blond, Caucasian woman who fled the scene in a large, newer model, four door Ford pickup truck.
The woman is believed to live in the Levack area.

Any animal which bites a person must be quarantined by the Sudbury and District Health Unit for rabies, stated the press release. The dog must be located to prevent the “uncomfortable and costly preventative treatment of the victim.”

Anyone with any information on this occurrence is asked to call animal control at 673-3647 (673-DOGS). Information reported to animal control is kept strictly confidential.
