Apartment blaze leaves one person in hospital with serious injuries

The fire marshal's office has been called in to investigate an apartment fire on Notre Dame Avenue that left a tenant in the hospital with serious injuries. Around 10:25 p.m. on Feb. 27, Greater Sudbury Fire Services responded to the highrise fire.

The fire marshal's office has been called in to investigate an apartment fire on Notre Dame Avenue that left a tenant in the hospital with serious injuries.

Around 10:25 p.m. on Feb. 27, Greater Sudbury Fire Services responded to the highrise fire. Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the apartment in which it started, though some residents were displaced by smoke.

The victim was found inside the apartment and was rushed to Sudbury Regional Hospital with burns and smoke inhalation. There is no information available about his or her condition at this time.

The investigation into the fire continues.
