Effective the first week of April, Bearskin Airlines will offer significant schedule improvements between Northern Ontario's largest cities and Ottawa and Toronto.

The major improvements will greatly enhance service between Sudbury, Sault Ste. Marie, Timmins, North Bay, Kapuskasing, Thunder Bay, Ottawa and Toronto's Buttonville Airport.

Sudbury Airport will act as the Â?hubÂ? to most of the improved routes.

Routes between Ottawa and Sudbury, via North Bay, will be upgraded to include 100 per cent non-stop service, reducing travel time to just 70 minutes, three times each business day. Offering the fastest service available will save four hours travel time on a return trip as compared to connecting through Pearson International Airport in Toronto.

Ottawa to North Bay and Ottawa to Timmins service, with connections in Sudbury, will also be upgraded.

Connecting services between North Bay and Sudbury, Sault Ste. Marie, Timmins, Kapuskasing and Thunder Bay will now be offered morning, midday and evening in each direction, an increase of up to 100 per cent in the number of daily connections depending on the city pair.
Flights to Sudbury-Timmins-Kapuskasing same aircraft service will be restored to three flights each business day and aligned to offer some new and improved connections to all of Bearskin's other major cities served.

One additional eastbound flight routed Thunder Bay-Sault Ste. Marie-Sudbury connection will be offered each evening, departing Thunder Bay at 6 pm, offering a longer business day for those who originated in Sudbury and Sault Ste. Marie that morning.

One additional non-stop flight will be offered each weekday morning departing from Sudbury at 8:55 am and arriving in Thunder Bay at 10:35 am. This flight will facilitate new on-stop connecting service from Toronto Buttonville Airport and Ottawa and compliment new one stop evening return servcie. It will also facilitate faster connecting service from Timmins and North Bay each morning.

Buttonville Airport connections will be dramatically improved and include new and enhanced connections via the Sudbury hub to and from Sault Ste. Marie, Thunder Bay, North Bay, Timmins and Kapuskasing three times daily in each direction. Buttonville service offers another alternative to service to Pearson International.

Buttonville is located just north of Highway 407 in Markham and is 25 kilometres northeast of downtown Toronto.

Â?We grew our airline by serving the business community,Â? says Bearskin president Harvey Friesen in a new release. Â?We have always offered key morning and evening departures and the most direct routing possible. Now we're making significant enchancements to better integrate our NE Ontario service with Toronto and Ottawa.Â?
