Board to hear options for fate of South End schools

Members of the Rainbow District School Board will receive two reports at their Sept. 20 meeting regarding options surrounding the fate of the board's South End schools.

Members of the Rainbow District School Board will receive two reports at their Sept. 20 meeting regarding options surrounding the fate of the board's South End schools.

The meeting will take place in the auditorium at Lockerby Composite School at 5:30 p.m.

They will receive a report from the accommodation review committee, made up of representatives from each school, as well as the board's administrative council, made up of the director of education and superintendents.

The schools under review include Alexander Public School, Algonquin Road Public School, Long Lake Public School, MacLeod Public School, Monetville Public School, R.L. Beattie Public School, Wanup Public School, Lockerby Composite School and Lo-Ellen Park Secondary School.

After the Sept. 20 meeting, the school board will hear from the public about the subject at another meeting, scheduled for Oct. 18 at 5:30 p.m. in the auditorium at Lockerby Composite School.

A final decision regarding the schools will be made at a school board meeting Nov. 15 at 5:30 p.m. at Lockerby Composite School.
