Not only did the participants enjoy a great day of curling, they also raised $20,000 for local prostate cancer research.

“We’re very proud of the curlers out there,” said Tannys Laughren, executive director of the Northern Cancer Foundation. “We had a lot of help from the community when putting this event together and to see this amount raised towards prostate cancer research is incredible.”

This year’s top fundraiser was Bob Cecchetto who brought in over $4,000 in donations.in honour of his sister Marleen. The event website will remain up and running this week for potential donors to pledge their support.
