YES Theatre/STC are holding a “Broadway star-studded” gala fundraiser this Friday, Sept. 29.
A press release said the gala “presents the opportunity for patrons to get behind the curtain and
experience the theatre like never before.”
Behind the Curtain is a dinner, concert, art installation, silent auction and more.
The concert features some of Broadway’s best including Stephen Anthony (“Book of Mormon”, “Dear Evan Hansen”), Sara Farb (“Harry Potter and the Cursed Child”) and Garret Healey (“Dear Evan Hansen”).
“Think of going to a party at Great Gatsby's house — only his house is a theatre, and the party ranges from sitting and taking in music to exploring the stage, shops, lounge - pockets of the theatre you never knew existed,” said Alessandro Costantini, artistic and managing director of the theatre companies.
“We want people to really see the guts of this glorious old building that we really love and are working to sustain and elevate. You’ll be fed... There will be music... prepare to experience the theatre like never before. The theatre is no longer in survival mode. The support of the community and fundraising initiatives are now to support the vibrant cultural legacy that we’re creating in this community.”
The event begins at 6 p.m. at Sudbury Theatre Centre. Tickets cost $100 plus tax and a processing fee. Purchase tickets online here.
