Cambrian College has announced the recipients of the President's Award for Excellence in the outstanding service, support staff and administrator categories.
The winners will be honoured on Aug. 27 at Rendez-vous — an annual Cambrian ceremony that honours the award recipients, those retiring and employees with long-standing service, according to a news release.
Jennifer Cawley Caruso received the outstanding service award. She is a professor in the School of Community Services and participates in the Child and Youth Worker program.
Cawley Caruso has been involved with L'Arche Sudbury for more than 20 years and has served on its board of directors for 18 of those years. She has been recognized for her work with this organization through appointments to the provincial and nationals boards and as delegate to the International Assembly of L'Arche.
She also works with the Ontario Association of Child and Youth counsellors at the local and provincial levels, continued the release.
Kimberley Glibbery is the recipient of the support staff category award. She has been ab administrative assistant for the Schools of Community Services, General Studies and Justice since 2007.
Glibbery attended Cambrian's business administration program and began her career at the college in 1999 as an alumni officer. She then worked in the Glenn Crombie Centre for disability services, and the Northern Ontario Assessment and Resource Centre as support staff.
This year's recipient in the administrator category is Cora Vandendriessche, a 1977 graduate of the college's electronic data processing program. She has been an employee of Cambrian for more than 20 years and is currently manager of enterprise application support with the information technology department.
The Cambrian College President's Award for Excellence was introduced in 1992 “to recognize employees who have been exemplary in their efforts, to not only achieve their own professional goals, but to inspire other members of the Cambrian College community to set and achieve the highest standards,” stated the news release.
