Cambrian College’s Medical Laboratory Technology program has received national accreditation from the Canadian Medical Association (CMA).

The accreditation acknowledges that the program has met national standards for this particular health science profession and that the program effectively prepares graduates to contribute to quality health care in Canada.

As diploma holders from a nationally-accredited program, Cambrian’s Medical Laboratory Technology graduates are prepared to embark on careers locally, provincially, or nationally and will not have to write additional exams to have their certification recognized.

“We are pleased that Cambrian College has received national accreditation for its Medical Laboratory Technology program,” said Sonia Del Missier, Vice President, Academic, at Cambrian College.

“The accreditation reflects the calibre of our Medical Laboratory Technology program and our goal to ensure that our graduates have employment-ready skills and training. As well, it confirms our focus on providing graduates with a solid and relevant educational foundation and a competitive advantage in today’s health care environments,” said Sonia Del Missier, vice-president of academics, in a news release.
