Cambrian Rendezvous honours retired and current employees

Cambrian college celebrates its employees at annual event

Cambrian College celebrated and honoured excellence at its Rendezvous event Thursday. 

The annual event hosted by the college honours employees who are retiring or have completed a considerable milestone in their years of service. The event also features the President’s Awards for Excellence, recognizing outstanding achievement by employees.

This year, the school added another special presentation to honour Richard Fedec, manager of financial aid, who received the provincial Art King Award. 

The provincial award is given to either a current or retired Ontario college employee for outstanding contributions to student services and support. 

Fedec, a retired Cambrian employee, had been with the college for more than three decades, assisting students achieve their dream of a college education. Upon his retirement, Fedec worked with the Alumni Association and helped raise $80,000 for student bursaries. 
                
Winners of this year’s  President’s Award for Excellence were:

Outstanding Service – Team: Information Technology

Outstanding Service – Individual: Marie Ng-Au (part-time instructor, Academy of Music)

President’s Award for Excellence – faculty: Jeff Walker (professor, coordinator, Civil Engineering Technician/Technology)

President’s Award for Excellence – support staff: Amanda Simmons (Admissions Specialist)
