Cardinals raise $20K for Cancer Society

'Most ever raised by a school'

St. Charles College raised a total of $20,000 to support people battling cancer in Sudbury.

The initial goal was to raise $10,000 for the Canadian Cancer Society but Cards never settle for anything and together they doubled it.

Members of the Canadian Cancer Society were astounded with the overall result.

“This could not have been possible without the hard work and dedication of the committee members, staff, volunteers, family members and students,” said principal Patty Mardero. “The weather was also on our side.”

Representatives with the Canadian Cancer Society confirm that this is the largest cheque received by a school ever.

Three students in particular went the extra mile in collecting donations. Katie Miscio raised $585, Jasmine Swain-Beaulieu raised $330 and Brayden Bouffard raised $306.
