CBC to host health forum

CBC Northeastern Ontario Radio's Morning North will host a community forum on health care called “Prescribing a Cure” March 8 at 7 pm in the Science North Cavern.

CBC Northeastern Ontario Radio's Morning North will host a community forum on health care called “Prescribing a Cure” March 8 at 7 pm in the Science North Cavern.

The forum will focus on fixing the problems in our health care system and try to get those affected in the same room: doctors, nurses, policy-makers, hospital administrators, patients, and regular, everyday people who are simply concerned with the current and future state of the health-care system.

“This forum isn’t all about airing grievances or pointing fingers,” said CBC journalist and forum organizer, Sherry Huff, in a news release.

“Quite frankly, we’ve already heard plenty of details about the problems. This is meant as a way to get beyond that, bring everyone together in one room, and see if we can come up with some workable solutions to, at the very least, begin improving the health-care situation in the northeast.”

The forum will be broadcast on CBC Radio’s “Morning North” program on Friday, March 9th and Monday, March 12th.

Everyone is welcome and encouraged to come out and provide their input. For further details on the forum, please contact Sherry Huff at 688-3229.
