Students at École St-Étienne in Dowling and St-Augustin in Garson recently took in a lecture from author Yves Antoine.
His presentation was entitled "Black Scientists and Inventors.”
Antoine described the contributions of blacks in the areas of science and technology and how they contributed to society.
A great deal of attention was dedicated to the description of specific contributions made possible by black scientists, researchers and Nobel Prize recipients.
Born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Antoine studied in Europe and in the United States before launching a teaching career at the Ottawa University and Algonquin College. He is the author of the book entitled Inventeurs et savants noirs.
