Over the past three months, Delta Bingo and Gaming locations in Sudbury and Val Caron have provided more than $829,000 to more than 150 local charities over the past three months, the business said in a news release.

“These funds help support local delivery of  charitable programs and services that are vital to the needs of the people of Greater Sudbury,” Delta said in a news release. “Funds are used for food programs, education, healthcare, arts and culture, youth sports, and other community-driven programs and services.”

A good example of how this funding is used is the Sudbury Food Bank, Delta said. The food bank uses the funding to offset the costs of operating their warehouse on Lorne Street, fund community programs and cover the cost of food.

Since 2006, Delta Bingo and Gaming has partnered with the City of Greater Sudbury, the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp., the Ontario Charitable Gaming Association, the Commercial Gaming Association of Ontario and local charities, using proceeds from gaming to help fund local services for those in need.

“Since the program began, over $36,700,000 has been raised for local charitable groups across Greater Sudbury,” Delta said in a news release. “Charities receive a portion of all gaming activity  at Delta Bingo and Gaming.”
