The deep ocean is coming to Northern Ontario this weekend when the Ocean Wise Sea Dome visits Science North for two days.
“Have you ever swam as schools of mackerel glide overhead, dove alongside a squid, or explored BC’s kelp forests? On July 29 and July 30 visitors in Northern Ontario will have the chance as Ocean Wise brings the sea to Science North,” the science centre said in a press release.
The Ocean Wise Sea Dome is an immersive, pop-up ocean adventure. The planetarium-style six-metre dome projects a 360-degree, 4K cinematic footage of the ocean and its creatures, “transporting” youth under the sea.
“The experience is designed to highlight connections between ocean health, climate change, and daily life – and get visitors excited about ocean conservation! The day with also include marine artifacts and interactive activities led by marine educators.”
This is the first time the sea dome has toured of central Canada. Admission to the Ocean Wise Sea Dome is included in Science North admission.
