City to host mining employment forum

The City of Greater Sudbury is hosting a forum for residents who are interested in pursuing a career in mining. Titled "Making the Match to Mining", the forum will take place at Tom Davies Square Friday, Jan. 12.

The City of Greater Sudbury is hosting a forum for residents who are interested in pursuing a career in mining.

Titled "Making the Match to Mining", the forum will take place at Tom Davies Square Friday, Jan. 12. The presentation portion of this event will be held inthe council chamber from 10 am until noon. This forum will educate residents about the requirements of entry-levelmining positions and how they can obtain the necessary qualifications.

From 9 am to 3 pm, participants will have the opportunity to speak with representatives from local mining companies, educational institutions and career resource organizations in the foyer of Tom Davies Square. To reserve a spot or to obtain more information, phone 674-4455, ext. 4181 or 4366.

For those who are unable to attend, the forum will be televised live on IDNR-TV (Natural Resources Television). A toll-free number will be provided during this broadcast for those who wish to ask questions.
