The city’s general manager of health, social and community services has stepped down.

Word that Tim Beadman had left the City of Greater Sudbury first hit social media less than an hour ago.

When reached for information, city spokesperson Shannon Dowling issued the following statement.

“General Manager of Health, Social and Emergency Services Tim Beadman is no longer with the organization. Interim Chief Administrative Officer Kevin Fowke will be working with senior staff over the coming days to appoint an interim General Manager for those areas.”

An internal memo from acting CAO Kevin Fowke, that was leaked to Northern Life, says much the same thing.

"Dear Colleagues, I regret to inform you that General Manager of Health, Social and Emergency Services Tim Beadman is no longer with the organization,” the memo states. “I will be working with senior staff over the coming days to appoint an interim General Manager for those areas. I know that you will join me in wishing Tim all the very best in his future endeavours.”

Beadman’s LinkedIn profile states he has been chief of fire and paramedic services in August 1999. In April 2015, his role was expanded to general manager of health, social and emergency services.
