The community is invited to take part in the seventh annual Tampon Tuesday initiative, which is taking place until March 10.

The initiative is being put on by United Way Centraide North East Ontario/Nord-est de l’Ontario (UWCNEO), in partnership with the Sudbury & District Labour Council.

A press release said one in four Canadians must choose between buying food or period products each month. Although menstrual hygiene products are a necessity, many people in our community cannot afford to purchase them. This is where Tampon Tuesday helps.

There are several ways to participate:

  • Launch a workplace collection drive until March 10.
  • Donate products at a participating community collection site. A complete listing of participating organizations is available online here.
  • Make a financial donation to support the Tampon Tuesday campaign.

All donations collected from Tampon Tuesday will be distributed locally to organizations supporting vulnerable clients in our community.

For more information about Tampon Tuesday, visit the United Way’s website, or contact Katherine Cockburn, development manager at [email protected].
