Motorists are advised to expect traffic delays on the Kingsway, starting Monday, Sept. 29. Major repairs to the Kingsway S-curve, located between the base of the Lloyd Street hill and Kitchener Avenue, will reduce traffic to one lane in each direction.
Crews will repair or replace underground infrastructure, curbs and sidewalks as needed. This section of road will also be milled and resurfaced.
Work will continue through the remainder of this year’s construction season until the end of November. Final work will be completed in the spring of 2009.
The City of Greater Sudbury recognizes this construction project will result in significant traffic delays. To compress the construction schedule, the contractor has been authorized to work 24 hours a day, excluding Sundays.
Motorists are thanked for their patience during these necessary road repairs.
