Dr. Arnie Aberman has been hired as consulting dean for the medical school project. This appointment will enable Laurentian University to move forward with the plans for the development of the school while the search for a founding dean is in progress.
Aberman will sit as a member of the implementation management committee and work with Laurentian and Lakehead Universities and their clinical education partners to develop a framework for the curriculum for the new medical school.
Aberman has led a distinguished academic and medical career. He is a specialist in internal medicine and pulmonary disease. A professor of medicine at University of Toronto since 1980, he has served most recently as dean of the Faculty of Medicine.
