Several city councillors were named to local boards during council's Feb. 14 meeting.
To begin, Ward 6 Councillor Andre Rivest has been replaced on the Sudbury and District Board of Health by Ward 9 Councillor Doug Craig. He joins fellow councillors Janet Gasparini, Evelyn Dutrisac and Ron Dupuis on this board.
Next, council voted to appoint Ward 4 Councillor Evelyn Dutrisac, Ward 10 Councillor Frances Caldarelli and Ward 1 Councillor Joe Cimino to the Court of revision under the Drainage Act for the full term. The court of revision hears appeals from the owners of lands assessed for drainage works who take issue with the assessment of their land.
Ward 11 Councillor Janet Gasparini and Ward 12 Councillor Joscelyne Landry-Altmann have both been named to serve as council representatives on the board of management for the Downtown Sudbury Business Improvement Area for a two-year term.
Council also approved the appointment of downtown business owners or representatives to the board. They include John Arnold, Jan Browning, Brenda Edington, Marsha Fabbro, Dennis Gainer, Victoria May, Shirley Vincent, Bob Wygant and Derek Young.
