Traffic slowed to a halt on Paris Street on Friday afternoon after an accident that involved a Greyhound bus and two cars.
The accident occurred near the former site of St. Joseph's Health Centre on Paris Street.
Beau Ross, a passenger on the Greyhound bus, which was headed south to Toronto, said he was reading a book when he heard someone yell “whoa!” and felt a small bump.
“I think one of the vehicles sort of spun off and tapped the front of the bus,” he said.
At around 2:30 p.m. a grey Chevrolet was parked next to the bus with some damage to its front end. The driver was no longer in the vehicle.
Ross said the driver did not appear to be seriously injured when emergency responders arrived.
“They were a little shaken up at first,” he said.
An orange car was in the northbound lane, and appeared to have more severe damage to its front end.
That car's driver also appeared to have only suffered minor injuries, Ross said.
Police and firefighters closed a portion of Paris Street, north of the former hospital site, after the accident. By 3:30 p.m. Paris Street had re-opened in both directions.
Greater Sudbury Police Staff Sgt. John Valtonen confirmed there were no serious injuries from the crash.
