Greater Sudbury Utilities has received reports of a company called Summit Energy canvassing around Greater Sudbury claiming to represent GSU or Greater Sudbury Hydro.
“While they are a licensed active electricity retailer, Summit Energy has no affiliation with us,” Wendy Watson, director of communications at GSU, said in a news release. “We urge you to make an informed and educated decision before you sign any energy contract.”
Consult someone you trust, contact your current service provider and try the free calculator tool on the Ontario Energy Board website to compare you pay now with what you would pay if you signed with an energy retailer, the release said.
“If door-to-door sales reps are aggressive and will not leave your property when asked, contact your local police service.”
