Effective Nov. 1, the city is making changes to several downtown parking locations.

Following the sale of the current Market Square location for the new School of Architecture, the city has retained 50 parking spaces on Elgin Street at Market Square. These will be converted to daily and hourly parking pay-and-display spaces. These 50 spaces will ensure those who use the current Market Square parking lot for short trips downtown can continue to enjoy the convenience of Elgin Street parking.

For monthly pass holders, the city has many alternate parking choices available downtown, including the newly opened Energy Court parking lot off Lorne Street, the CP parking lot on Elgin Street or the Shaughnessy Street parking lots.

Parking downtown is free weekdays after 6 p.m. and on weekends.
