Are we in the middle of a small-scale gas price war? When Sudbury.com posted today's gas prices this morning, the lowest was 97.9 cents at the Independent at the Pumps station on Lorne Street.

Here's some good news to kick off your afternoon: The price has dropped yet again, both on Lorne and at stations in New Sudbury.

If you need to gas up, now's the time.

OntarioGasPrices.com is reporting Independent at the Pumps on Lorne is now selling fuel for 92.9 cents a litre — nope, that's not a typo.

If you can't make it over to Lorne Street, stations near the Lasalle Boulevard/Barrydowne Road intersection are advertising gas at just over 94 cents a litre.

Gas prices in Greater Sudbury are still below the one dollar per litre mark.

Most gas stations in Sudbury are charging 99.6, according to GasBuddy.com. The cheapest gas in the city is 97.9 at Independent at the Pumps on Lorne. The most expensive gas in the city is 99.9 at Shell in Hanmer, Byrnes in Azilda and Esso in Azilda.

In nearby Sturgeon Falls, gas ranges in price from 97.6 to 97.9.

The average price of gas in Ontario today is 99.3. The cheapest gas in the province is 80.9 in Cornwall. The most expensive Ontario gas listed on GasBuddy.com today is 149.9 in Pickle Lake.
