The City of Greater Sudbury issued the following notice about the downtown water main break at 6 p.m. Dec. 26:
"Repair to the watermain on Larch Street is complete. Paving continues. One lane of traffic is open on Larch Street, between Elgin Street and Lisgar Street, and will remain open while paving is completed on December 27. The intersection at Larch Street and Durham Street is not affected and remains open to traffic."

"Repair to the water main on Larch Street is anticipated to be complete later tonight. Larch Street between Elgin Street and Lisgar Street will remain closed this evening, including the intersection at Larch Street and Durham Street.
Larch Street between Elgin Street and Lisgar Street will remain closed until end of day tomorrow to allow for paving. The intersection at Larch Street and Durham Street is anticipated to be open to traffic on December 26."

The City of Greater Sudbury issued the following notice about the downtown water main break at 8:36 a.m. Dec. 25:
"Repair to a watermain has closed Larch Street between Elgin Street and Lisgar Street, including the intersection at Larch Street and Durham Street. Crews are on-site and expect to have the repair completed by end of day."

If you're out and about this Christmas morning, avoid Durham Street and the surrounding area.
The road is closed due to a water main break at Durham and Larch that's caused flooding and a sinkhole, Greater Sudbury Police said in a tweet at 7:22 a.m. Dec. 25.
