Dynamic Earth lit up in red to launch Heart Month

Heart Month was launched Feb. 3 with a “Heart Lights” ceremony, when Dynamic Earth was lit up in red.

Landmarks across Ontario were also lit up in red on Feb. 3 to celebrate the launch of Heart Month.

Heart Month is put on by the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario to raise awareness of heart disease and stroke.

In addition to this Heart Lights ceremony, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario will hold a number of fundraising and heart health awareness events in Greater Sudbury during the month of February, including:

Feb. 8 at 1:45 p.m. - Kick-off Assembly for Marymount Academy Thursday Heart Throb Event at Marymount Academy, 165 Youville Street

Feb. 11 - Jump Rope for Heart at Adamsdale Public School, 181 First Ave.

Feb. 14 - Jump Rope and Hoop for Heart at Ecole publique Jean-Ethier-Blais, 2190 Lasalle Blvd

Feb. 16 at 11:30 a.m. – Half Day BAC Ball Hockey Tournament at Bishop Alexander Carter High School, 539 Francis Street, Hanmer

Feb. 17 at 10 a.m. - Marymount Academy Thursday Heart Throb Event at Marymount Academy, 165 Youville Street

Feb. 19 - Hoops for Heart at Ecole Secondaire MacDonald-Cartier, 37 Lasalle Blvd.

Feb. 19 - Registration for Copper Cliff Curling Club’s Curling for Heart Event, 39 Veterans Rd.

Feb. 23 - Hoops for Heart at Lo-Ellen Park Secondary School, 275 Loach’s Road
