Elgin Street Mission in urgent need of Ensure

The Elgin Street Mission — which feeds the city's needy and homeless population — is in urgent need of donations of the liquid nutritional supplement Ensure, according to a Facebook post from the agency.

“We have just been notified by our kitchen manager of one more need,” the March 24 Facebook post said.

“We have an URGENT need for Ensure. We use this for different clients who are battling cancer or other chronic diseases who cannot always eat a full meal. Any donations of this item would be greatly appreciated.”

A March 23 Facebook post said the Elgin Street Mission also needs donations of the following items as it gears up for Easter dinner: potatoes, juice, canned fruit, oatmeal, sugar (brown or white), Cheez Whiz, cookies and ham.
