Update: Freezing rain warning continues for the region

Rain will transition to snow in northern parts of the region, while travel could be hazardous due to freezing rain in the Greater Sudbury region

Environment Canada has updated the freezing rain warning issued yesterday afternoon.

Freezing rain is expected to continue this morning for parts of the region.

"Travel in the affected areas could become hazardous, particularly in the Greater Sudbury area and along Highway 11 between Temiskaming Shores and Marten River. The freezing rain will transition to rain or snow early this morning."

Environment Canada reports that north of the areas mentioned above, precipitation will fall mainly as snow. Snowfall amounts up to 10 cm can be expected today in areas from Halfway Lake Provincial Park northeast to Temiskaming Shores.
