Ever wanted to work on a farm? Foodshed Sudbury has an opportunity for you.

Their Foodshed Project is running an internship on a farm just south of the city. Participants will be involved in a series of workshops on how to effectively manage their own home-grown farms as well as working 6-12 hours per week on their own half acre plot of land.

All produce from the participants' plots is theirs to keep.

The project is open to 10 people aged 18 to 30.

"This is an opportunity for young people who want to learn more about agriculture to get some hands-on experience," said Nicholas Wolynsky, youth engagement co-ordinator of the Foodshed project.

"Our seminars will cover topics such as planting, weeding and harvesting the crops. We are also planning to have guest speakers come in from other farms in the area to talk about topics such as sustainability in farming."

The deadline for applications is April 22. Applicants are asked to send a resume and cover letter to [email protected] .
