Greater Sudbury Fire Services battled a blaze on Caribou Road yesterday afternoon.

Fire damage to the single-storey dwelling was heavy, the fire service reported, as was smoke damage. The value of that damage is estimated at some $300,000.

No injuries were reported. The two occupants of the home were evacuated safely, but are now without a home.

The fire required six vehicles and 25 firefighters from four fire stations to put the fire out.
