A structure fire on Lloyd Street has claimed one life, and two others have suffered minor smoke inhalation.
Three fire units comprising 16 firefighters along with police and paramedics responded on the scene of the fire at 9:20 a.m. today.
The fire temporarily shut down Lloyd Street in both directions.
The fire has since been extinguished, however the investigation into what caused the fire is still underway.
No names of the people affected or the extent of the monetary losses have been released or determined.
Westbound, Lloyd Street is open to traffic, while the eastbound lane remains closed as the crews are still on scene.
Motorists are advised to take alternate routes or expect delays.
