The Copper Cliff Curling Club put a warning out on its Facebook page Tuesday.
The club said it was notified that someone was making phone calls claiming to be collect donations for the Copper Cliff Curling Club.
“To all our members, supporters and followers please be aware! We are NOT canvasing by phone for donations,” said the Facebook post.
The phone number being used to make the fraudulent calls is not a local number, though it does have a Northern Ontario area code. The number is 705-315-0368.
The incidents have been reported to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre.
