Ontario is helping students succeed in math by reaching out to them online.

Through Homework Help, a website that provides free online math help to Ontario students in grades 7 to 10, students are receiving the help they need to learn and pass math, according to a news release from the province.

As well, parents are getting the tools they need to help with their kids' assignments.

Initiatives like Homework Help are part of the McGuinty government's plan to build the best-educated workforce in the world. That leads to more investment and creates good jobs for families, according to the release.

“Student success is a top priority for our government," Laurel Broten, Minister of Education, said in the release. “Homework Help is a strong program that is helping parents and students with math homework, at no cost to them.”

Emily Lessel, a Grade 9 student in the province, said: “Homework Help really helped me! The teachers who volunteer as online tutors never quit. They made sure I understood the math homework I was working on, no matter how long it took. I also found it fun to learn online."
