Freight train derails at rail yard

At approximately 12:15 p.m. on Aug. 24, a freight train derailed three cars at slow speed in the Sudbury rail yard. There were no injuries and no public safety issues. No dangerous goods were involved.

At approximately 12:15 p.m. on Aug. 24, a freight train derailed three cars at slow speed in the Sudbury rail yard.

There were no injuries and no public safety issues. No dangerous goods were involved.

CP's emergency protocols were immediately enacted and all safety precautions and measures are being taken as crews respond to the situation.

The incident will receive a full investigation.
