The disappearance of Tyler Haney on Nov. 8 has taken a huge toll on his family. Raquel Quenneville, a friend of the family, started a Go Fund Me campaign  in hopes of raising $5,000 for Haney's mom, Sherri, who she said in her post is having a difficult time dealing with her son's disappearance.

The disappearance of Tyler Haney on Nov. 8 has taken a huge toll on his family.

Haney was last seen going to bed that night. When his roommate returned home the next morning, Tyler was gone. His belongings remained in his bedroom, however, including his wallet, identification and cellphone.

Greater Sudbury Police Service is looking for the public's help in finding him. Police said they received information that Haney was seen in the area of Amberdale Court very early in the morning of Nov.  9, just after midnight, according to a press release.

Raquel Quenneville, a friend of the family, started a Go Fund Me campaign  in hopes of raising $5,000 for Haney's mom, Sherri, who she said in her post is having a difficult time dealing with her son's disappearance.

“Tyler and Sherri had a very close relationship and have always leaned on each other,” Quenneville said in her post. “They have been known to be each others' rock. Solid. Being a single mom, this is a strong bond to break.

“With him missing, Sherri has been lost without him. This untimely event has left her without the ability to work (would you be able to work if your child was reported missing?) and drained her physically, mentally, emotionally and financially.”

The money would go towards rent, groceries and to help support Haney's siblings.

Haney is described as being 5-foot-11, weighing about 160 lbs, with a slim build, brush-cut, blond hair, facial scruff with a scar on his left cheek and a broken front tooth.

He was last seen wearing dark blue jeans, a reflective construction jacket and dark brown boots.

Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to contact Police 705-675-9171.

“Tyler is a blond-haired, blue-eyed character that could light up a room with that megawatt smile,” said Quenneville in her post.

“Tyler is a big brother to three other siblings; one brother and two sisters. When writing this, I asked his 11-year-old sister to describe him and she said one word, 'goofy.' Going missing and off the grid is very out of character for him. He would have told someone something by now, or at least been in contact with someone.”
