More than 200 women gathered at Natura by Verdicchio’s to celebrate the Canadian Cancer Society Sudbury & Districts’ first annual "Girls Take ...," an Eventful Times Signature Event, where the world's most popular cities are celebrated.

This year the women in attendance took on New York City. Attendees got the true New York experience from the décor to the various food stations.

The event featured live entertainment, drink sampling, spectacular door prizes, one-of-a-kind live auction and incredible silent auction items.

“Fundraising events like the Canadian Cancer Society’s: Girls Take ...” raises awareness of the importance of raising funds for women’s cancers; including breast, colon and cervical cancer, says Marie Whitehead, one of the event's organizers.

“The money raised from this event will go directly towards high quality women’s cancer research initiatives. The event gave us the opportunity to educate the women on the importance of cancer prevention and healthy living.”

The funds raised go to help fund Canada’s most cutting-edge research for all women’s cancers. Next year, the Canadian Cancer Society will take on Paris.
