Giving hope to Sudbury is Troy Crowder's number one priority

PC candidate opens campaign office

Sudbury Progressive Conservative candidate Troy Crowder welcomed a group of supporters into his new campaign headquarters on Lasalle Boulevard on Tuesday evening in celebration of the office's opening.

With the Ontario general election just a little more than a month away, Crowder utilized his campaign office opening to continue drumming up support and speak about his vision for Sudbury, Northern Ontario, and the province.

"I'm excited for what this city can do and should do, I've been frustrated for a long time with the way the government has been going," said Crowder. "This city has so much potential and the answers are in the people that live in this city."

Crowder laid out his mantra of "Sudbury solutions, not Queen's Park excuses" as he gears up for the coming 40 or so days ahead of the June 7 election, where he will be up against Liberal MPP Glenn Thibeault and NDP candidate Jamie West in the Sudbury riding.

Speaking on Sudbury's economy, Crowder stressed the need to diversify and encourage innovation and creativity.

"We realize the mining world keeps shrinking in the number of employees and the potential for the future," said Crowder. "We need to use our minds and work together. My number one job is to give hope to this city."

Cutting red tape and opening the door for more business and innovation in the city are high on Crowder's list of priorities.

"There's so many little things that are obvious and bigger projects that should happen that people with experience and technology are ready to make happen, we just need to get rid of some of this red tape, this resistance to change," said Crowder.

"We need to open the doors to make Sudbury and Northern Ontario what it should be."
