Golden Shield soccer players team up with CMHA to promote mental health

Cambrian is the first non-hockey varsity sport to partner on Talk Today initiative

The Cambrian Golden Shield men’s and women’s soccer teams will be making a bit of history this weekend.

The Golden Shield and the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) are teaming up to make Saturday’s home games part of the CMHA’s Talk Today Game Day initiative.

Talk Today promotes positive mental health among amateur athletes. Cambrian is the first college in Ontario to partner with the CMHA on Talk Today in a     varsity sport other than hockey.
                
Saturday’s Talk Today games feature the Cambrian Golden Shield hosting Fleming College of Peterborough.
        
The women’s game will begin at noon at the Cambrian College soccer pitch. The men’s team takes to the field at 2:30 p.m.

The Golden Shield women’s squad will then host Loyalist College of Belleville, Sunday, Oct.6 at noon at the Cambrian College field.
