Gotta Get them all at the Easter egg hunt in Lively

Cornerstone Community Church hosts its third annual Easter egg hunt

Easter is just around the corner, and so were the Easter eggs at the Cornerstone Community Church’s third annual Easter egg hunt.

The church opened its doors on Saturday for children aged 2-10 to participate in the ever-growing annual tradition.

“Every year more and more children come for the egg hunt, next year we are planning to host the egg hunt two times, one in the morning and another in the afternoon,” said the church's pastor, Mike Gordon.

The church works hard at setting up different rooms for various age groups. This year the church featured a glow-in-the-dark Easter egg room for children aged 8-10.

“We try to do something different every year so that the kids can enjoy,” Gordon said.

At 11:15 a.m., a volunteer signalled the start of the egg hunt, and kids swarmed the rooms with their bags, and just as quickly were seen leaving with their bags full of chocolate goodies.

The church ensured the fun didn’t stop once the eggs were found, as they treated the tired hunters with hot dogs and refreshments.

For the kids, the highlight of their day included collecting scores of chocolates while for some it was finding a golden egg and swapping that for a prize.

“I don’t know how many eggs I found but I know I have a lot and I found a Kinder Surprise,” Quinn Checchetto said.

“I am not sharing my chocolate with anyone, just the Kit-Kat,” Checchetto quipped
