The City of Greater Sudbury appointed a new acting fire chief and acting general manager of Emergency Services last week.

New acting fire cief Wayne Ropp, who has been assistant fire chief since 1999, started working for the city in 1973.

Doug Wuksinic, the new acting general manager of Emergency Services, is responsible for overseeing the Fire Services, Emergency Medical Services (land ambulances) and Emergency Planning and Preparedness. Waksinic will also continue in his role as general manager of Corporate Services for the city.

?Wayne Ropp and Doug Wuksinic will assume their interim duties and will continue to perform their current resposibilities,? said Jim Rule, chief administrative officer of the City of Greater Sudbury. ?They will ensure the ongoing delivery of services in this important area.?
