Cutifani divided his time among many groups in Sudbury, including his time as campaign chair for the most financially successful United Way drive ever in the Sudbury community. He shaved his head for the Northern Ontario Cancer Research Centre fundraiser and was presented with the Paul Harris Award for his work with the Rotary Club of Sudbury.

“Over the past five years, Mark has become a great friend to our community and has laid the groundwork for the strong and positive relationship that now exists between the company and our city,” said Mayor John Rodriguez at the celebration. “The City of Greater Sudbury has been fortunate, as we have benefited from Mark's community commitment and leadership.”

The Cutifani appreciation event was followed by a Community Project Showcase that featured eight local projects from various research groups in the community.
