Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Greater Sudbury and vicinity.

Parts of Northeastern and Central Ontario are expected to receive accumulating snowfall Monday and Monday night due to a low-pressure system heading northeast from Oklahoma toward the Great Lakes.

Environment Canada predicts nearly 5 cm of snow will fall in most areas Monday, with additional overnight flurries bringing the total snowfall amount to 10-15 cm by Tuesday morning.

There is uncertainty with the forecast track and the strength of the low, which will affect total snowfall amounts across the region.

Environment Canada is closely monitoring the situation and may release additional snowfall warnings as the event approaches.
