Construction on the one-site hospital should begin within two weeks now that the contract has been awarded to EllisDon Corp., Sudbury MPP Rick Bartolucci announced Friday afternoon.
It may be six months before the cost of the hospital is released to the public. It will take that long for Infrastructure Ontario to conduct a value-for-money audit.
At the hospital's Feb. 13 board meeting, Robert Hofmann, manager of capital projects, said the construction contract would be awarded “within days” and construction would begin by the end of the month.
