A house fire on Crean Hill Road in Whitefish has left at least two people displaced from their home.

Greater Sudbury Fire Services responded to a call at 9:30 p.m. Friday night.

The blaze required response from four fire stations, nine vehicles and 20 firefighters, and caused severe smoke and fire damage. Damage estimated are around $250.000.

There were no injuries.

Fire officials did not release a cause of the fire, but did include a message about cooking safety in their news release.

"Cooking is the number one cause of home fires. Don’t leave your cooking unattended. Always stay in the kitchen while you’re cooking – especially if using oil or high temperatures," said the release.

"If a pot catches fire, slide a proper-fitting lid over the pot and turn off the stove. Do not move the pot, let it completely cool off."
