How can colleges and the mining industry work together?

Eight mining innovation experts are scheduled to speak at a Sudbury luncheon August 19 hosted by the North America Mining Expo.

Emile Malvaso, manager of Cambrian Innovates, will kick off the luncheon with a discussion about partnerships between colleges and the mining industry, and how they can be mutually beneficial.

Other scheduled speakers include Joe Gladu, vice-president of Sudbury-based mining technology company Symboticware; Tom Palangio, president of North Bay's WipWare; and Bora Ugurgel, managing director for the Centre for Excellence in Mining Innovation (CEMI) launched the Ultra-Deep Mining Network.

The event will take place at the McLelland Community Centre in Copper Cliff, and starts at 10 a.m.
